The Environmental Design Research Association [EDRA] offers many benefits of membership.
EDRA membership is available at both the individual and organizational level.
Individual Membership
EDRA makes available six types of individual membership. Individual memberships are for a 12 month period from time of payment.
Regular Membership $175 per calendar year. Regular membership is available to anyone interested in the impact of natural or built environment on human behavior. Benefits include:
- Discounted EDRA Conference Fee (the Conference fee is discounted by the cost of membership thereby making membership free to regular members who attend the conference. Everything else below is then just bonus!)
- CD-ROM or Paper copy of the EDRA Conference Proceedings.
- Web access to historical issues of the EDRA Conference Proceedings.
- Subscription to eDRN, the Weekly email newsletter of EDRA.
- Access to the E&B Bibliography, a searchable annotated citation list of hundreds of E&B publications.
- Access to the EDRA Working Paper Repository where E&B researchers place in-progress work for discussion and feedback.
- Discounts on several research publications including

- Environment & Behavior
- Journal of Architectural and Planning Research
- PLACES
Young Professional Membership $75 per year. Young professionals in their first three years after college qualify for a young professional membership rate of $75 per year. Membership benefits are identical to the benefits of regular membership. Evidence of recent graduation may be required.
Student Membership $75 per year. Student membership is available to anyone enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university. Evidence of enrollment may be required. Benefits are identical to regular member benefits. In addition, EDRA hosts Student Research and Student Design competitions, and makes competitive conference travel scholarships available to student members. Students also are invited to participate in the Student Network made up of student enrolled in environment, behavior, and design programs around the world.
Emeritus Membership $75 per calendar year. Emeritus membership is available to any retiree who previously held regular EDRA membership. Benefits are identical to regular member benefits.
Placeholders $500 per calendar year. EDRA Placeholders are sustaining members of EDRA. Each Placeholder membership includes a $275 tax-deductible donation that supports four [4] student member scholarships. EDRA Placeholders receive all benefits of regular membership plus recognition as sustaining members of the organization in the form of recongition in the conference program and proceedings; a special conference nametag; and recognition in the EDRA Newsletter.
Wayfinders $300 per calendar year. EDRA Wayfinders are sustaining members of EDRA. Each Wayfinder membership includes a $75 tax-deductible donation that supports one [1] student member scholarship. EDRA Wayfinders receive all benefits of regular membership plus recognition as sustaining members of the organization in the form of recongition in the conference program and proceedings; a special conference nametag; and recognition in the EDRA Newsletter.
Placeholder and Wayfinder members of EDRA make possible significant student member scholarships helping to ensure sustaining generations of EDRA members. It is their voluntary contribution to the organization that guarantees it long term health and growth.
EDRA also makes available membership scholarships for those interested in participating in the environment and behavior community but unable to afford regular membership. These scholarships are intended primarily to make EDRA membership available to scholars in the developing world. Please contact

Organizational Membership
Institutional Wayfinder $600 Memberships are available to corporate, academic, research, governmental, and not-for-profit organizations. Each Wayfinder membership provides the following benefits:
- Two [2] regular membership (for designated individuals); additional regular memberships may be purchased at $125 each.
- Unlimited student memberships (to designated eligible students) at $50 each.
- One [1] additional library copy of the EDRA Proceedings (in addition to the individual member copies).
- Unlimited free job placement notices (non-member fee is $300).
- Recognition on the EDRA Website and in the EDRA Newsletter.
- Forty percent discount on website display advertising.
- One [1] half page display advertisement in the Conference Program.
- Right to sell books [authored or edited by corporate employees] on the EDRA Bookstore website.
- Right to portray organization as an "EDRA Sponsor" on organizational collatoral.
- Reduced registration fees for EDRA Conferences and workshops.
Institutional Placemaker $1000 Memberships are available to corporate, academic, research, governmental, and not-for-profit organizations. Each Placemaker membership provides the following benefits:
- Four [4] regular membership (for designated individuals); additional regular memberships may be purchased at $125 each.
- Unlimited student memberships (to designated eligible students) at $50 each.
- One [1] additional library copy of the EDRA Proceedings (in addition to the individual member copies).
- Unlimited free job placement notices (non-member fee is $300).
- Forty percent discount on website display advertising.
- Recognition on the EDRA Website and in the EDRA Newsletter.
- Limited rights to display corporate materials at the EDRA Conference (contact the EDRA business office for details).
- One [1] full page display advertisement in the Conference Program.
- Right to sell books [authored or edited by corporate employees] on the EDRA Bookstore website.
- Right to portray organization as an "EDRA Sponsor" on organizational collatoral.
