EDRA Awards Overview

In 1977, the EDRA Board of Directors established the EDRA Career Award to honor the accomplishments of distinguished members who had made substantial contributions to the discipline of environment and behavior research over their careers. This award was joined later by the EDRA Service Award and the EDRA Achievement Award, to recognize other ways in which contributions to the field have been made.

EDRA has long honored student research and design achievements with specific awards intended to promote and reward excellent work.  EDRA student awards are usually accompanied by scholarship or honoraria.

EDRA joined with Places Journal in 1997 to initiate the EDRA/Places award program.  The program recognizes professional and scholarly excellence in environmental design.  In 2008, this program is expanded to include a partnership with Metropolis Magazine.
