EDRA now has a Linked in Group
EDRA now has a presence on the Linked in social network as a "professional group".  This is in addition to the Facebook group created last month.  If you are a member of either network, please consider joining our group.

The Linked in group enables you to interact with other EDRA members also on social network (at least once we have critical mass out there.)   Hopefully, it will serve to bring EDRA to the attention of non-member environmental design professionals as well.

The Facebook group already has 38 members, many of them graduate students or faculty in EDRA related programs.

Research Design Connections Blog

EDRA is proud to announce that the Research Design Connections Blog now appears within the stable of EDRA News and Opinion blogs.

Linking to the RDC Blog enhances EDRA's mission of providing value to environmental design professionals by linking research to practice.  Research Desgin Connections, a quarterly electronic newsletter and almost daily blog, collects and disseminates interesting and relevant research in a manner useful to the active practitioner.  We hope and expect this partnership to be beneficial to all parties.

Veracruz Update March 20
We have been working to clarify and streamline the hotel reservation process for EDRA 39.   You can make your hotel reservations from the US at 1-800-343-7821 or from Mexico at 1-800-504-5000.  We are working to find toll free numbers from other countries.   Remember to tell them you are with EDRA to get the conference discount rate.   As of now, website reservations will not provide the conference discount; you have to phone in your reservation.

Those wishing to make reservations in English should be able to do so at the US 800 number.  Also, if an operator tells you that you must be able to "prove" your EDRA membership at check in, just politely go along with that.  We will take care of pre-validating everyone coming to the conference.

Welcome to EDRA39 in Veracruz

The EDRA Veracruz Chapter and the Conference Organizing Committee are pleased to host the 39th Annual Meeting of the Environmental Design Research Association at the Universidad Veracruzana in Boca del Rio, Veracruz, México, May 28 – June 1, 2008.

Conference registration is available here.  Paper registration booklets will be mailed during the second week of March.  Early Conference registration has been extended through April 11.  After that, Conference registration fees increase by $50.

The conference theme, Linking Differences—Defining Actions, reveals that although we are aware of our contrasts, we are also concerned with how to bridge those differences in order to begin defining actions with a shared responsibility. At this EDRA conference we will come together to explore how environmental design can be used to collaboratively solve common challenges and help link different subcultures through devising effective local strategies and implementation.

It is with a spirit of genuine hospitality that the EDRA Veracruz Chapter, our conference hosts, invite you to participate in EDRA39!”
